Short History
But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
Jude 20 - 21
We extend this greeting with warmth to the brothers who visit us, but it is also an encouragement for life and service to the members of the local church.
The history of Elim Church began in July of the year 2000, when a small group of brothers, later joined by others, laid the foundation of this church. A Leadership Board was initially formed -- Brother Florian Șanta was chosen as pastor, and the newly established church began to operate under the name "First Romanian Apostolic Church". The church services began in August 2000, and from then until today, they have been a blessing to the thousands of believers who, over time, have attended either as members of the church or as guests.
Also in the year 2000, the purchase of a place of worship was brought into discussion; with God’s help and blessing, in April 2001 the church took possession of the building in which it continues its ministry to this day. In the meantime, Pastor Florian Lucaciu assumed leadership of the church, and beginning in 2002 the church operated under the name "First Romanian Pentecostal Church".
In 2004, an extensive renovation process was carried out so that the available space could be used effectively and to its full capacity. Pastor Florian Lucaciu stepped down from serving as senior pastor in 2006 and remained as an honorary pastor, while Brother Cosmin Avram was chosen as the pastor of the church. From the time of his ministry until today, the church has operated under the name "Elim Romanian Pentecostal Church".
Through Credo TV, a monthly program was broadcast for several consecutive years, contributing to the spread of the Gospel over the airwaves. Beginning in 2012, Brother Cosmin Avram stepped down from his role as pastor of this church, with the purpose and desire of continuing missionary work in Sibiu County, Romania, where he moved with his entire family in the spring of 2013.
In 2012, Brother Corneliu Olan was chosen as the pastor of Elim Church. More and more families from Europe, as well as from the USA, chose Georgia as their final destination, and thus the local church grew to over 1,100 souls, including children. Elim Church is a dynamic church, with worship services and activities that cover almost every day of the week.
We rejoice in the Word, we rejoice in prayer, we rejoice in song, and in holy fellowship. We desire God’s blessing and presence to be upon us, and we warmly invite you to visit us if you pass through this area!
